Aspiring Minds: Tell us something about yourself and your career goals.

Naveen: First of all, I would like to thank AMCAT for making my dream come true. I am Naveen Kumar from a small village of Rajasthan. I have done my studies till class 12th in my village. I have done my B.Tech in Computer Science from Arya College, Jaipur. In my stack of traits I have perseverance towards my work. Also I am a quick learner and a good team-leader. My goal is to see myself at a big MNC in the upcoming years.

Aspiring Minds: What difficulties did you face while searching for a job and how did you overcame those difficulties?

Naveen: Oh yes, this is really a serious question. You may laugh but prior to Snapdeal, I almost tried in 15 companies and was only able to get an average salary. One common thing in all these companies was that they were only concerned about communication skills but I was good in technical. So, it really became a daunting task for me to find a job. I was just waiting for a right platform that could bridge that gap and luckily the opportunity came to me through the AMCAT.

Aspiring Minds: Tell us about your experience post giving the AMCAT test and how AMCAT helped you in getting the job at Snapdeal?

Naveen: I took AMCAT in October 2013 and my score was pretty good. I was happy but honestly, I wasn’t much confident that I will get a job through AMCAT. After that there was no reaction for almost 3 months. But then it all started. When I got the message that I have been shortlisted for Snapdeal drive, I was not able to believe it because this was a great opportunity for a student like me, who is not from IIT or NIT. It was really an amazing experience for me.

Aspiring Minds: Would you suggest other job seekers to take AMCAT? If yes, why

Naveen: A big yes, without a second thought!! Especially if you are not from an IIT or a NIT. The most amazing thing that AMCAT provides everyone is a detailed feedback report. You will be given feedback on your strengths and areas where you need to improve to become more employable. You’ll get job opportunities matching your skill set through AMCAT. In my college, around 150 students took the test and most of them are now placed.

Aspiring Minds: Would you like to share some tips which can help other job seekers in getting a good job?

Naveen: Firstly, you have to evaluate yourself and then prepare accordingly. Suppose your technically sound, prepare for the toughest interview questions, read stuff on some good websites, books, etc. Apart from this, keep working on your aptitude and communication skills.
